Amanda L. Lee WALLINGFORD, CT — A beautiful young soul has taken her final journey. Amanda Lynn Lee, 35, currently living in Wallingford, CT, died peacefully in her home on Monday, September 12, 2022. She was born on April 15, 1987 in Claremont, NH to Laura Zutter and John Lee. Amanda was a brilliant mind and a lovely soul. She was beautiful, joyful, ebullient, intelligent, thoughtful, creative, artistic, determined, funny, caring, and loving to all she knew. She loved the Bruins, the Patriots, and the Red Sox (just like her Nana). She had a “fat orange cat” named Icarus, who keeps waiting for her to come home. She had so many talents – she played the trumpet since 5th grade and then switched to the tuba at the request of her band director due to her keen ability to learn so quickly. She partook in multitudes of different crafts from etching to making candles out of craft beer cans. She had an amazing talent for painting, as well as being an exquisite writer of both prose and poetry. She also loved to cook and develop her own recipes. She was very family oriented and truly loved and appreciated her family, just as we did her. She attended Claremont, NH schools, and graduated from Stevens High School in 2005. She then attended Plymouth State College and graduated in 2009 with a degree in Biology. She was an excellent student. She spent one year in nursing school in Concord, NH and withdrew after she was involved in a serious motor vehicle crash. She talked of wanting to seek a career in medical research, but her path led her in another direction. She was employed at the 99 Restaurant in Wallingford, CT as a bartender and server, which she loved doing. Previous employment included the 99 Restaurant in West Lebanon, NH, Bistro Nouveau in Eastman, NH, The Farmers Table Café in Grantham, NH, and the Little Red Baron in Newport, NH. She is survived by her mother, Laura Zutter (Dr. John West) of Grantham, NH; her father, John Lee (Christine) of Longs, SC; her maternal grandmother, Linda “Mamie” Zutter of North Charlestown, NH; paternal bonus grandmother, Jeannette Lapierre of Fairfax, VT; her brother, Zachary (Lauren) Lee, of Concord, NH (Zach was Amanda’s “Numba 2”); and two bonus sisters, Jessica Brooks (Scott) of Milton, VT, and Jamie St. John (Jesse Hancock) of Sheldon, VT; and a special friend, AJ Adams of Meriden, CT. She has a multitude of other beloved family members on both sides of her family – aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and cousins once removed. She also has many wonderful, caring friends who will miss her dearly. She managed to touch the soul of each and every person she encountered and she had a way of seeing the good in everyone. She was predeceased by her maternal Papa, Anton “Tony” Zutter (who called Amanda “kiddo”); paternal grandfather, Edwin Lee; paternal grandfather, Dean Lee; paternal grandmother, Polly Lee (who called Amanda “little chickadee”); bonus paternal grandfather, Gerard Lapierre; and her maternal great-grandmother Lucile “Nana” Morse. Amanda missed them dearly – she is obviously well looked after in Heaven. Calling hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH on Saturday, September 24 (her Papa’s birthday) from 2pm-5pm. Funeral Services will be held at Stringer Funeral Home on Sunday, September 25 at 1pm with burial to follow at Hope Hill Cemetery in North Charlestown, NH with her Papa. In lieu of memorial donations or flowers, please spend time with your loved ones and hold them as long and as strong and as close as you can, until you can’t.
