Keith M. McAllister

Keith M. McAllister NEWPORT — Keith M. McAllister, 66, of Newport, NH, passed away peacefully with his Family by his side at the Jack Byrne Center on 9/3/22, after a short 13 day battle with cancer. Keith was born in Windsor, Vermont on October 30, 1955 to Janette P. Davis and Kenneth L. McAllister. Keith grew up in Weathersfield, VT and Graduated from Newport High School in Newport, NH. Keith married the love of his life, Becky on February 16, 1980. He had two daughters, Heidi McAllister and Katie (McAllister) Lord. He was employed by Tambrands/Proctor and Gamble from 1979-2002. He then became a self-employed carpenter until his passing. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth L. McAllister, his brother Kenneth “Lenny” McAllister, Jr, Stepfather Alden W. Davis and his brother in-law James J. Boyle. Keith is survived by his wife of 42 years Becky (Together for 48 years), daughter Heidi and Fiancé EJ Durgin and stepdaughter Alexis. Daughter Katie Lord, husband Anthony and their children Zoey Alexis and Jaxson Joseph. His mother Janette P. Davis, a brother Kent N. McAllister (Beth), 2 Sister In-Laws, Donna (Pat) Greenleaf, Judy (Tim) Hunt, Several cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. Keith had a large family and will be deeply missed by all of them! Keith coached softball for many years and loved the game. Bumpa as he was known to many, enjoyed softball, basketball, and football and he never missed a game. Not only was he a Bumpa to his own grandkids but he would fill the roll of Grandfather to every kid at the field, bringing snacks, baked goods (from Becky) and mints to everyone. His grandkids were the light of his life. He shared a special bond and love of softball with his granddaughter Zoey. He traveled all over the country to help her reach her dreams of playing collegiate softball. Zoey promises Bumpa she will keep their softball adventures going with him by her side! Keith was a very skilled carpenter and handyman. Keith could fix most anything. He enjoyed making furniture and spending time with his family. He was quite a jokester and always made people laugh. He will be greatly missed by his family and all the people he touched throughout his life. At this time there will be no services per his wishes. A celebration of life may be held later date (TBD). Becky, Heidi and Katie would like to send a very special thank you to Niccole RN at DHMC ICCU for her love and care of Keith. Sharing laughs and smiles, joking with him and facilitating everything for the family. Everyone at the Jack Byrne center for their compassion and care during Keith’s final days, Especially Jess and Sherry.
