Stevens Shuts Out Campbell, 1-0

Tim St. Pierre’s Cardinals started out the season hot and have maintained that level of play with only 3 games to go. Hailey Knight grabbed her 10th shutout of the season as the Cardinals grabbed win number 12 on the season against only one loss. Stevens has outscored their opponents 64-4 over those 13 games with some big battles left on the schedule.

The Cardinals Riley Leonard scored the only goal of the game late in the second half with assists going to Addison Derosier and Tori Dalke off a direct kick. “We got the win, but we didn’t play our best today,” said Leonard.

“Everyone wants to knock us off and Campbell is a really good team especially on defense. We have three games left and you can bet that Bishop Brady (9-4), Hopkinton (7-3) and Newport (3-9) would like nothing better than to put a loss on our record,” said St. Pierre.

Division 3 has 4 teams with 12 wins as St Thomas (12-0-1), Stevens (12-1), Gilford (12-1) and Raymond (12-1-1) all staring at a top 4 seed, but the season isn’t over as these standing may shift a bit.

“We need to improve our will on other teams, we are a bit beat up right now and we have players playing in different positions, but this is the time for players to step up and want it” said St. Pierre.
