The largest taxes people pay in NH is by far property taxes and they vary from town to town. It is levied on property owners, businesses and renters ( indirectly). If you happen to live in a community like I do, Newport, we pay the fifth highest tax rate with our neighbors Claremont paying the highest tax rate in the state. Yet when it comes to funding our local public schools, we struggle to raise the needed tax revenues to fund the yearly budget. This is in spite of paying some of the lowest teachers salaries in the state. If this cycle of high property taxes, draconian cuts to school budgets, and losing good teachers to higher paying districts has gotten you fed up and frustrated. There is something you can do in the upcoming election, join with me and send not just one advocate but an army of advocates to Concord, who are committed to restoring our NH Constitutional right to a fairly funded adequate education. Please support the following candidates to finally solve this decades of school funding unfairness once in for all. Please vote for; Charlene Lovett for State Senator and State Representatives Jason Bourne, John Streeter, Biddy Irwin, Linda Wadensten, Linda Tanner, Hope Damon, John Cloutier, Gary Merchant, Rob Lovett, Andrew O’Hearne and Brian Sullivan.
