CLAREMONT – Claremont Motorsports Park comes alive this weekend with its huge three-day Fall Challenge 2022 event on tap from Friday through Sunday at the historic Thrasher Road speedplant.
On Friday, October 14, it’s the annual Non-Winners Night of racing, with five divisions of competition, their fields restricted to only drivers who did not win a feature race during the 2022 summer season. The R.E. Hinkley Street Stocks, Route 103 Auto Late Model Sportsmen, In City Sugar Shack Mini Stocks, LaValley Building Supply Pure Stocks, and Avery Insurance Six Shooters will all be in action Friday.
The Non-Winners format produces some of the best competition of the season. Among those not eligible to compete this time around are Craig Smith, Greg Millette, and Andrea St. Amour, each winners in this event a year ago but too successful this summer to qualify for Friday’s event. Post time for this one is 7 p.m.
On Saturday, October 15, 802 Credit Union will present a huge, ten-division afternoon card of racing. With added purses up for grabs in this one, the competition will be deep and furious.
The Street Stock, Modified, Late Model Sportsman, and Pure Stock features will each pay $1,000 to win, with the Six Shooters battling for a winner’s purse of $750. Post time for Saturday’s day two Fall Challenge event is 1 p.m.
Day three of the Fall Challenge 2022 CMP weekend goes green Sunday, October 16, at 1:15 p.m., as Key Chevrolet Buck GMC of Newport presents a seven-division card of racing.
Key events in Sunday’s Fall Challenge finale will include a Mini Stock Nationals event presented by Maurice Enterprises paying a whopping $2,000 to win, and a Street Stock 50-lapper, with the winner taking home $1,000 for the second day in a row.
Discounted three-day admission passes for the Fall Challenge 2022 are available for both grandstand and pit admission.
