To The Editor:
We are writing in support of Hope Damon’s candidacy to become a State Representative representing Claremont and eight other towns in Sullivan district 8.
As a Claremont native, Bob has long followed issues in his hometown and we both believe that Hope will be an excellent State Representative. She is a strong supporter of public education and was inspired to run when the Free Staters cut in half the funding for Croydon’s schools. Hope led the successful effort to then fund the schools.
Sue served on the NH Women’s Foundation Board for many years with Hope and also on the Grants Committee which Hope chaired. The Grants Committee reviews and selects non-profit applicants for funding from throughout the state. The process of selecting recipients, a number of whom have been from Claremont and Sullivan County, gives you a widespread understanding of the needs of the state. Both Hope and I recognized the need to support agencies such as TLC in Claremont, TPN, and Claremont Learning Partnership. Hope is a good listener and facilitator and will bring those skills to the State house.
She is a registered dietitian whose life work is to improve people’s wellbeing. She has good negotiation skills. We all need her in Concord. Please vote for Hope Damon.
