Ramona Wadleigh

Ramona Wadleigh CLAREMONT — Ramona Wadleigh of Claremont, N.H. passed away on Friday morning, October 28th, 2022 after a period of declining health. Ramona was born in Gaysville, V.T. on June 12th 1929 to Elwin and Marion Whitcomb. She is survived by her son, John Wadleigh and his wife Lydia of North Charlestown, N.H. and her daughter, Jane Hunter and her husband Leo of Claremont, N.H. She is also survived by five grandchildren – Lionel (Jamie) Ferland of Efland, N.C., Erica Ferland of Essex Jct V.T., Brandi (Max) Grossman of Unity NH, Teddy (Kate) Wadleigh of Unity NH and Lillian (Jon) Harford Of Claremont NH. She is survived by 9 great grandchildren – Abe, Atticus, and Alice Grossman. Hayden, Kennedy, and Lauren Wadleigh. Paisley, Ella and Mason Harford. She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm Wadleigh and her daughter Terry Ferland of Woodbridge, VA. Ramona was a devoted wife and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and all the people that knew her. Ramona or “Whit” as many called her and her husband ran “Wadleigh’s Market” in Claremont for over 45 years until his death in 2002. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Lake Sunapee Visiting Nurses Association (Hospice) out of New London NH and especially to JoJo and Lisa Marie. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to three invaluable caregivers – Andrea, Terry and Donna and to Ramona’s primary doctor, Dr. Patricia Min from Dartmouth Hitchcock. Dr. Min was a great support to the family and to our mother through her journey. There will be no calling hours but there will be a graveside service at the Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont on November 5th at 2pm for anyone that would like to attend. There will be a private family gathering at her house following the graveside service. The family asks in lieu of flowers that you do something kind for a stranger.
