Kearsarge Student of the Month

New London — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce Kearsarge Regional High School’s November Student of the Month.

Analiese Blasingame, a senior from Warner, was selected for the honor based on nominations from school staff and faculty. Blasingame is described by faculty as a dedicated and dependable student, showing leadership and responsibility when interacting and helping peers.

“Analiese is a well-rounded student who participates in soccer, diverse and challenging classes, a part time job, and other extracurricular activities,” said Band Teacher Sean Anderson. “She sets a great example of what we want our KRHS students to achieve and be.”

Students of the Month are nominated and selected by faculty in recognition of their positive conduct and character, both on and off campus. The honor is an acknowledgement of an individual’s positive moral character and contributions to the school community.

Blasingame participates in a variety of extracurricular activities. She is a member of the school’s soccer, swimming and track and field teams, is a member of the National Honor Society, and plays the clarinet in the school’s Jazz Band.

Outside of school, Blasingame volunteers at the Sunapee Farmers Markets, working the farm stand.

Additionally, Blasingame would like to attend nursing school after graduation and is currently participating in the Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) program that is offered by the school, which provides her with clinical experience. She is currently in the middle of the 120-hour LNA course offered by ELO in collaboration with LNA Health Careers and is enrolled in the spring Emergency Medical Responder course offered by ELO in collaboration with the New Hampshire Department of Safety.

“Her clinical experience is at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport, where she brings her compassion and positive energy to our most vulnerable population,” said Extended Learning Opportunity Coordinator Rebecca Hemingway. “She has recently applied to the Darthmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Pre-Apprenticeship program where college coursework and experiential learning require the commitment of evenings and weekends. Analiese consistently demonstrates her dedication to the pathway she is passionate about while always finding time to encourage others.”

Following her graduation from Kearsarge, Blasingame is looking to attend nursing school to pursue a career in nursing, with a special interest in working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

“For my Senior Project I was able to shadow a nurse in the NICU at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and that experience reaffirmed that this is a path I want to pursue,” said Blasingame. “I think being a nurse that helps with the birthing process and the beginning stages of life is an inspiring career to pursue.”
