Charles W. Franz WOODBRIDGE, VA — Charles Warren Franz, 71, of Woodbridge, VA passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2023. Charlie was born in Hanover, NH to LouDean and Warren Franz on March 14, 1951. He was the president of the student council at Newport High School where he graduated in 1969. Charlie graduated from Dartmouth College. He was a Policy Analyst for NTIA in the Department of Commerce for over 36 years. Charlie is preceded in death by his father Dr. Warren Franz, mother LouDean (Jacobs) Franz, and sister Patricia Franz. Charlie is survived by his daughter Erika C. Poirier (Ryan) and her mother Rosemarie Franz and by his son Jakob K. Franz and his mother Heidi Franz. He is survived by his siblings, Deborah Dombroski (Tom), Melinda Franz, and Peter Franz, along with his nephew Patrick Dombroski and niece Erin Pickering. He is also survived by the light of his life, his granddaughter Lucy Poirier. We will be having a private memorial for Charles this summer at the Franz family pond.
