SUNAPEE: Voting Absentee Due to Storm

Attention Sunapee Voters:

Town Election Day is tomorrow. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning effective 8 pm this evening (3/13/23) to 8 am Wednesday morning (3/15/23). Due to this weather event, if the following applies to you, you can obtain your absentee ballot today (3/13/23) from 8 am until 5 pm:

“For use only on the Monday immediately prior to the election: I cannot appear at my polling place on election day because the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning, blizzard warning, or ice storm warning for election day applicable to my city, town, or unincorporated place and either (check one):

I am elderly or infirm or I have a physical disability and would otherwise vote in person, but I have concerns for my safety traveling in the storm.

I anticipate that school, childcare, or adult care will be canceled, and would otherwise vote in person but will need to care for children or infirm adults.”

Today (3/13/23) is the last day for my office to accept absentee ballots. No absentee ballots may be accepted after 5 pm today. Please arrive at the Town Clerk’s Office early enough to complete your absentee ballot and hand it back to me before this statutory deadline.

Respectfully,

Joshua P. Boone

Town Clerk & Tax Collector
