Pauline E. Powers CLAREMONT -Pauline E. Powers, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Claremont, N.H. on Feb. 26, 2023. Born in Eden, Vt., Pauline was the daughter of Clifton & Hazel (Thorp) Rowell. She attended schools in Morrisville & Johnson Vt., graduating from Johnson High School in 1950. In Nov. of 1950 she married Raymond Powers of Johnson, Vt. They stayed in Johnson for a couple of years, then relocated to Claremont, N.H. They purchased a home in Claremont in 1955, where they raised 3 children, and lived out the rest of their lives. They were married 56 years when Raymond passed in 2007. Throughout her life, Pauline enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crafting. Quilting and crocheting & embroidery were some of her favorites, but she never limited herself to just a few things; she delved into a multitude of creative endeavors. In her later years, she especially enjoyed doing Cryptogram puzzles, Sudoku, and reading. Her family meant everything to her. She loved nothing more than gathering with her family, sharing stories, meals, playing games. She was the “glue” that held her family close. She was our mentor, our champion, our best friend, our Mom/Grandmom. Survivors include one brother, Everett Rowell of Morrisville, Vt, son Duane Powers & his wife Kathie of Plainfield, N.H., son Larry Powers of Cornish, N.H., and daughter Avis Powers of Hartland, Vt. Also 3 grandchildren; Lora Powers of Ascutney, Vt., Spencer Powers and wife Joynel of Canaan, N.H., and Crystal (Powers) Rediker and husband Keith of Bethel, Vt, as well as 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Raymond Powers, and a sister, Stella Ruggles. There will be a graveside service on May 1st at Mountain View Cemetery at 11AM.
