WESTMORELAND, NH — Near 5 PM on March 25, 2023, troopers from the New Hampshire State Police — Troop C responded to a two-car crash on NH-12 near Aldridge Road. A preliminary investigation of the incident determined that a brown 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Katey L. Young, 34, of Walpole, NH was northbound behind the red 2004 Chevrolet 1500 truck of Marshal C. Carrier, 17, of Claremont, NH.
Reportedly, Young attempted to pass Carrier, and their vehicles collided. This led to Young losing control and driving off the southside of the roadway, where she then struck an embankment, leading to her vehicle rolling onto its roof.
Carrier’s vehicle also lost control, sustaining disabling damage from the collision. Young was taken by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center with a serious, but non-life-threatening injury. Authorities say that Carrier was uninjured in the crash, which remains under investigation. It is reportedly being treated as an incident of road rage.
One lane of NH-12 remained open throughout most of the investigation, but the entire roadway had to be closed while Young’s vehicle was removed from the scene. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Westmoreland Fire Department, the Keene Ambulance, and the NH Department of Transportation.
Anyone who witnessed this crash or has information regarding the incident is asked to contact Trooper Troy Couillard at (603)223-2162 or [email protected].
