CLAREMONT, NHJune 9, 2023–If you’ve been out on Washington Street in Claremont lately, you may have noticed that the former Rite Aid building is being renovated. Residents in the area know the building has been sitting empty for years. Fortunately it was in good enough shape to be repurposed. Fresenius Kidney Care, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care, has a team of contractors retrofitting the building to turn it into a kidney care center.

Fresenius Medical Care is the world’s largest dialysis and renal (kidney) therapies provider. It is part of a German based multinational company with operations all over the world. Within the United States, Fresenius Medical Care has over 2,500 clinics and 70,000 employees. Every day, it helps more than 170,000 patients with their chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease.

Fresenius’ project in Claremont is expected to open in January 2024. When fully operational, it will have 12 patient stations with two home dialysis training rooms. It will begin recruiting to hire staff this summer, with job opening details posted on the Careers section of the Fresenius Medical Care website at https://jobs.fmcna.com.

There are currently two other Fresenius Kidney Care centers operating in this area—one in Lebanon and one in Keene. This new site on Washington Street will provide a more convenient location for patients living in Sullivan County. As the opening date approaches, we will publish another story on this new Claremont business to provide you with further information.
