5 area students honored for academic achievement

Local students at the Roger Williams University and the University of Rhode Island are being honored for their academic prowess.

The University of Rhode Island has named Kaeley Skakalski of Cornish, Emma Leute of Grantham, Cheyenne Murray of Hillsborough and Emma Kirdzik of Ludlow to its dean’s list for completing 12 or more credits and achieving at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Roger Williams University has named Evan Sidmore, of New London, NH, to its Spring 2023 dean’s list for achieving a 3.4 or higher grade point average at the Bristol, R.I., school.

Founded in 1892, the University of Rhode Island is the principal public flagship research and graduate institution in Rhode Island. The school has 14,300 undergraduate students and more than 2,700 graduate students representing 48 states and 76 countries.

Roger Williams University offers 50 majors across eight schools of study and has campuses in Bristol and Providence, R.I.
