Fish won’t be the only ones in school at Lake Sunapee this summer.
In July, the Watershed Ecology Institute will be helping educators learn how to introduce their students to hands-on activities that help students develop an understanding, awareness and sense of stewardship toward New Hampshire’s aquatic resources.
A core component of Fish and Game Department’s Watershed Education Program, the institute will facilitate professional development through the exploration of the wildlife, people and habitats that depend on a diversity of watershed resources.
July’s workshop is intended for formal and non-formal educators of children in grades K-12 and designed with a special focus on watershed systems and aquatic wildlife. Participants will gain ecological knowledge, social and political understanding, and learn about sustaining fish and wildlife resources.
The three-day workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 19 to 21 and be hosted by the Lake Sunapee Protective Association in Sunapee.
Space is limited to 15 people. To learn more, contact Kayla Croteau at 603-271-0456 or email [email protected].
Registration closes July 1.
