Sullivan County Grand Jury report

A Sullivan County Superior Court grand jury handed down indictments Tuesday.

Those accused of crimes are:

• Matthew Morrell, 36, of Charlestown, is accused of possessing, or representing a substance as, fentanyl or heroin on June 13 in Claremont. According to the grand jury, Morrell was previously convicted of possessing more than 200 mg of heroin in Windsor County, Vermont, in 2015 and of selling or dispensing more than 200 mg of heroin in Windsor County in 2018. If found guilty, he faces a possible penalty of 7.5 to 15 years in prison and a fine of $200,000.

• Nicole Reed, 38, of Charlestown, is accused of falsifying physical evidence and possession of a controlled drug. She is accused of intercepting narcotics in an effort to interfere with the arrest of John Murray on April 13, according to the grand jury indictment. According to an indictment, she was allegedly found in possession of alpha-pyrrolidinoisohexanophenone (Alpha-PiHP) and has previously been convicted of selling and possessing drugs. If found guilty of interfering in the arrest, she faces 3.5 to 7 years in prison and a fine of $4,000. If found guilty of drug possession, she faces 7.5 to 15 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

• Almeda Sprinkle, 64, of Springfield, Vt., is accused of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. According to the grand jury indictment, Sprinkle allegedly pulled out a firearm and pointed it at another person during an argument. If convicted, each charge carries a sentence of 3.5 to 7 years in prison.

• Bryan Poisson, 19, of Newport, is accused of simple assault, inchoate-conspiracy, and theft by unauthorized taking. According to the grand jury indictment, Poisson allegedly exchanged messages with Ethan Ritondo or Braytn Kelley shortly before an assault occurred on Nov. 18, 2022 in Newport. According to the indictment, Poisson is accused of participating in a conspiracy to steal more than $1,000 from a victim who thought they were purchasing marijuana products. If convicted, he faces 3.5 to 7 years in prison and a $4,000 fine on each charge.

• Domanic Lacasse, 23, of Newport, is accused of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon. According to the indictment, on April 29, Lacasse was allegedly driving 85 mph in a 50-mph zone and while attempting to evade law enforcement he turned sharply onto unpaved private property. During the chase, he allegedly placed his passenger and other motorists in danger. If convicted, Lacasse could face 3.5 to 7 years in prison.

• Trevor Redman, 28, of Bristol, is accused of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon. According to the grand jury indictment, on March 26, in Newport, Redman is alleged to have chased a victim with a baseball bat and attacked the victim’s vehicle. If convicted, Redman could face 3.5 to 7 years in prison on each charge.

• Joseph Brushnefski, 37, of Newport, is accused of two counts of possessing or buying images of child sexual abuse. According to the indictment, he is accused of knowingly, possessing or controlling any visual representation of a child engaged in sexually explicit conduct. If convicted, he could face 7.5 to 15 years in prison and a fine of $4,000 on each charge.
