Claremont Delays Fourth of July Fireworks

Eagle Times Staff
It will be a festive and patriotic Fifth of July in Claremont this year.

Rain over the past several days has left the ground at Monadnock Park soggy, forcing the Claremont Parks and Recreation Department to push back the city’s Fourth of July fireworks a day.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m. With a high near 87 in the afternoon, the evening is expected to cool down to around 65 degrees.

Wednesday’s lineup

• 6:30 p.m.: Vendors open and 50/50 raffle tickets go on sale

• 6:30 p.m.: Jester Jigs Band takes the stage and will play until 9:30 p.m.

•  9 p.m.: Raffle sales close

• 9:30 p.m.: The winning raffle ticket is drawn and the fireworks begin.
