John H. Hall CLAREMONT, NH -John H. Hall passed away at his home on the evening of June 30, 2023 surrounded by family. He was 74 years old. John was born in Windsor, VT on August 24, 1948 to John E. and Ruth (Hunt) Hall. After graduating from Windsor High School in 1966, he enlisted in the National Guard. Early in his life, John became a highly-skilled mechanic, with an ability to fix anything. Throughout his career, he was known for being a meticulous problem solver and always relished a challenge. While living in Ascutney, VT in his twenties, he welcomed his three cherished children into this world – Kristi, John and Jackie. John’s passion in life was cars, and in his thirties, he accomplished one of his greatest dreams and built a race car – stock car #27. He competed at Claremont Speedway for several years during the 1980’s, where he went on to become the track champion for three consecutive years. While this was an incredible achievement, those that knew John would say that the friendships he formed and the comradery of his crew was the true win for him. In 1990, he met the love of his life, Diane Hinkley, and on June 15, 1991, the couple married and moved to Claremont, NH. There, they created their home together and John was blessed with his forth child, his stepson Tyler. John will be remembered for being many things – he was gentle and kind, hardworking and talented, and funny and caring. He had a love of music, and learned to play guitar alongside his son. He valued connecting with others, and engaging in deep conversation. His generosity and desire to want to help others will always be part of his legacy. John is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Diane, and his three children, stepson, and grandchildren: Kristi Dompier of Spofford, NH and her husband Steve and their two children, Jacob and Justin; John F. Hall of Claremont, NH and his wife Melissa and their daughter Emilee; Jackie Stanley of Brownsville, VT and her husband Mark; and stepson Tyler Roots of Golden, CO and his daughter Adeline. Calling hours will be Friday, July 7, 2023 at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH from 5 – 7PM. A service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1PM, also at Stringer Funeral Home.
