The Cornish Hiking Club will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday morning for a hike of the Unity Mountain Trail.
Hikers will gather at the County Farm Trailhead, the westernmost trail access for Unity Mountain Trail. The trailhead begins in the fields behind the Sullivan County Complex, located on County Farm Road, just off the 2nd NH Turnpike, 3 miles north of Unity Elementary School.
Hikers will leave from the paved lot to the left of the Sullivan County Complex, following the dirt road together towards the woods where the trail starts at the edge of the trees.
The trail is expected to be fairly easy, with some moderately difficult spots.
The Unity Mountain Trail is about 4-miles one way and the length of the hike will depend on the weather and how hikers are feeling. Not all hikers are expected to complete the entire trail.
According to TrailFinder, the trail climbs steadily past a small pond and crosses the turnpike before continuing gradually upward along the flanks of Unity Mountain, before dropping down as it approaches Marshall Pond. A scenic overlook offers a spectacular view near the summit
The club is open to everyone and their 4-legged friends.
