Center for the Arts Announces Scholarship Recipients

The Center for the Arts has announced nine scholarship recipients at the July First Friday Bandstand Concert on the New London Green.

The Lake Sunapee Region students were chosen for their talent as musicians, dancers, or students of visual, literary and theater arts, achievements and desire to pursue the arts

The 2023 scholarship recipients demonstrate outstanding talent and the CFA is thrilled to be able to support them as they continue their study in the arts,” said Scholarship Chair Sue Elliott.

The scholarship recipients are:

Jakob Vedova of New London is a graduate of Kearsarge High School. He has been involved with the performing arts since he was in fifth grade and creates original music using his knowledge of music technology. Vedova will be attending Drexel University to continue his interest in music composition and study business.

Sydney Laurendeau of Bradford is a graduate of Kearsarge High School. Laurendeau has been interested in dance from an early age. She will continue to dance at Keene State University, where she will pursue a career in exercise science with the possibility of becoming a physical therapist.

Anya Moorehouse of Sunapee is a graduate of Mount Royal Academy. Moorehouse has trained in ballet for many years. She will attend Benedictine College in Kansas, minoring in dance.

Annaliese Blasingame of Warner is a graduate of Kearsarge High School. She is a clarinetist who has participated in both the high school as well as the jazz bands since her freshman year and has also participated in drama productions at the high school.

Annalese Renner of Newport is a junior at Newport High School. She will be attending a workshop this summer to perfect her skills as a tap dancer.

Emily Perrone of warner is a rising senior at Kearsarge High Schoo. She will be attending a summer workshop specializing in dance instruction.

Oliver Andrews of Andover is a rising senior at Kearsarge High School and has received The Madge Rizza Music Award. A violinist, the scholarship will allow him to attend the Philadelphia Instrumental Music Festival in Wayne, Pennsylvania, focusing on solo and chamber music performance.

Elizabeth Bousham of Springfield is a rising junior at Kearsarge High School. She will be attending a workshop this summer to improve her tap and modern dance skills while also focusing on dance instruction.

Natalie Laurendeau of Bradford is a freshman at Kearsarge High School and will be going to a summer workshop to develop her dance skills.
