Colby-Sawyer Announces Hall of Fame Inductees

NEW LONDON, N.H. – On Tuesday, Colby-Sawyer College announced its Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2023. The five former student-athletes will be honored during Homecoming and Family Weekend in October.

Established in 2006, the Colby-Sawyer Athletic Hall of Fame celebrates the significant and impressive contributions of each of its members.

Rebecca Hooker

Rebecca Hooker, a 1984 graduate was a member of the women’s basketball team at Colby-Sawyer. Hooker starred for three years and is one of the best defensive players in school history. Rebecca ranks first in program history in rebounds (1,222), and second in blocks (223).

Hooker was also a member of one of the best teams at Colby-Sawyer going 21-2 in 1981-82 under Head Coach Michael McMahon.

Will Bardaglio

Will Bardaglio, a 2012 graduate of Colby-Sawyer College and four-year member of the men’s basketball team. Bardaglio was a skilled outside shooter and currently sits as the all-time three-point shooter in program history (327). Will also sits 11th in program history in total points (1,400) and averaged 13.3 points per game in 105 games played with a 42.7% career three-point percentage.

Bardaglio was a NH Division III Basketball Coaches Association First Team selection twice in 2010 and 2011 and was also named All-CCC First Team in 2010 and 2011.

Adrienne Bender

Adrienne Bender, a 2014 graduate and dual sport athlete participating in women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse. Bender is most known for her exploits on the soccer pitch where she has the most goals (44) and game-winning goals (14) in program history. Adrienne also ranks third in total points (99). Bender was a three-time All-CCC First Team selection in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and was also a NEWISA All-New England Third Team member in 2013.

On the women’s lacrosse team Adrienne started out as a goalkeeper in 2012 going 8-8 with 99 saves. In her other two seasons for women’s lacrosse Bender finished with 33 games started with 18 goals and seven assists in her career.

In 2014, Bender was named the Wynne Jesser-McGrew Scholar Athlete of the Year as well as the CSC Female Athlete of the Year.

Ashlyn Ramsay

Ashlyn Ramsay, a 2016 graduate was a four-year member of the women’s tennis team. Ramsay was one of the most successful student-athletes in Colby-Sawyer history logging 128 total victories for the Chargers women’s tennis program including 57 singles wins and 71 doubles wins in her career. Ashlyn helped the Chargers win four-straight NEAC East Championships and four-consecutive NEAC Crossover Titles while also making the NCAA Tournament every year.

Ramsay was a two-time NEAC Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015 and the NEAC Rookie of the Year in 2012. She was also a member of the NEAC East Division Singles & Doubles First Team in all four years and was a three-time Salve Regina Grass Court Doubles Flight Champion in 2012, 2014 and 2015.

Denali Sexton

Denali Sexton, a 2018 graduate was a four-year member of the men’s soccer team. Sexton was one of the best men’s soccer athletes in program history holding the program record in points (145), goals (56) and assists (33). Denali was a four-time NAC First Team All-Conference selection in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, a two-time NAC Player of the year in 2016 and 2017 and a NAC Rookie of the year in 2014.

Sexton was also a United Soccer Coaches All-New England First Team selection in 2017 as well as a 2015 and 2016 United Soccer Coaches All-New England Third Team member. He was also recognized by the ECAC as the Co-Rookie of the Year in 2014 and an ECAC First Team All-Star in 2016.
