Bellows Falls, Rutland Split Legion Double Headers

In American Legion Baseball, Rutland Post 31 traveled to Bellows Falls Post 37 on Thursday and came away with a split in a double header.

In game 1, Bellows Falls came back from a 3 to 0 deficit to tie the game in the fifth inning. Bellows falls got the win, 4 to 3, in the bottom of the eihgth. Sam Boxer picked up the win in relief of Jamison Nystrom. Boxer also hit the game winning single with the bases loaded.

Game 2 ended with Rutland winning 6 to 2 in the bottom of the 7th when a thunderstorm ended the game early. Sam Arnold was the winning pitcher for Post 31.

Bellows Falls stands at 4 wins and 7 losses, and Rutland is 3 and 8.

The next games are on Saturday when Bellows Falls has a double header in Bennington and Rutland hosts a double header with top-ranked Brattleboro.
