WESTMINSTER — Vermont native Connor Bean has been selected as the next athletic director for Bellows Falls Union High School.
As a former high school student-athlete and a member of the men’s bowling team at Union College, Bean has been impacted tremendously by team sports and said he is excited to work with and mentor the students of Bellows Falls.
“I’ve always wanted to be an athletic director since high school,” Bean said. “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining such a well-established athletic school with tremendous community support. The combination of a strong athletic program and passionate community involvement is truly remarkable and sets the stage for an exceptional experience” said Bean.” It’s something I’ve worked my entire life to get to.”
Bean is grateful to be joining a program with storied athletic excellence, passionate coaches and students and an enthusiastic and supportive community. Recently Bellows Falls has seen stand out success from the football, basketball, field hockey and track and field teams, with credit to dedicated coaches’ efforts.
“I am truly honored to be part of this remarkable community and I look forward to working closely with the student-athletes, coaches, parents and the community as a whole,” said Bean. “Together, we will continue to build upon the rich athletic legacy of Bellows Falls and create an even brighter future for our athletes. The unwavering backing from our fans, parents, alumni, and local community members creates an electric atmosphere that fuels the spirit of our athletes. It’s an honor to step into a role where the community is so deeply invested in the achievements of our student-athletes.”
After competing as a three-sport athlete at Oxbow High School, Bean chose the bowling route in college. He worked as a sports information assistant and game day manager at Paul Smith’s College and most recently he served as the Athletic Director at Craftsbury Academy. Bean is also the Director of High School Bowling in the state of Vermont.
“I’m a huge promoter of bowling in Vermont because of what it did for me, but that also goes for other unique sports as well,” remarked Bean. “One of my goals is to implement nontraditional sports and provide for students who may not otherwise compete as a varsity athlete but deserve to have that experience.”
Bean hopes to engage as many students as possible and encourage them to become involved in athletics. He already feels a sense of pride and honor to be able to contribute to the school’s unparalleled culture and high-achieving standard of success.
“As the new Athletic Director, I am committed to further strengthening the athletic programs and fostering an environment where student-athletes can thrive,” stated Bean. “I am excited to work with the exceptional coaching staff to provide the guidance and support needed to help the athletes excel both on and off the field.”
The upcoming fall season will be Bean’s first opportunity to impact Bellows Falls Athletics. He is thrilled to be a resource for students and their families throughout their high school experience.
