The Association will be updating League Lineup with the correct dates. Practices will be dependent on coaches and their availability.

Registration open for Tackle Football Camp

Want to start the football season off right?

Join youth football coach Chris Merrill and other members from Springfield’s football community at Riverside Park in Springfield, Vt., for a camp designed for beginners and experienced players ages 8-12.

The camp will run from 5 to 7 p.m. daily from July 24 to 28.

Each session players will learn different aspects of the game from how it is played to offensive and defensive skills. For both the line and the backfield.

But, they will not just learn football. Players will also learn teamwork, sportsmanship, humility, responsibility and other lifelong skills.

Though it is a tackle football camp, and players will learn how to be a better tackler, the program is centered on low-contact drills.

The program will be focusing on finer individual skills in nearly all positions.

Only a shirt and shorts are required. Cleats are recommended, but not required. If a player needs a pair of cleats, contact Parks and Recreation.

Register by July 2 to guarantee a T-shirt. The cost of this camp is $50.

To register online, visit www.springfieldvtparksandrec.com and click on camps.
