Quadruple Header at Bellows Falls Field

With the weather backing up the schedule and the state American Legion Baseball tournament set to begin today, Bellows Falls’ Hadley Field was a busy place Thursday with four games.

White River Post 84, Lake Region and Bellows Falls all had games Thursday as the teams attempted to make up as many games as possible. White River and Lake Region are both battling for the four playoff spots with Bennington and Manchester. Brattleboro has already clinched the top spot in Southern League.

Lake Region and White River first completed a game tied at 1 in the 6th inning on July 18, finishing the game with Lake Region winning 2 to 1. White River dominated the full game, winning 15 to 1.

Bellows Falls then faced White River first and then Lake Region.

White River led the game early 3 to 1 before Bellows Falls tied the game in the fifth inning and went ahead in the 6th inning 4 to 3. Bellows Fall won the game 6 to 5.

In the second game for Bellows Falls, Lake River fought a long game defeating Bellows Falls 9 to 2 in 9 innings. The game was tied at 2 after 7 innings before Lake Region exploded for 7 runs in the top of the 9th for the crucial win.

This was the final game for the 2023 season for Bellows Falls Post 37 finishing at 5 and 12 for the season .
