The Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund is sending out checks of up to $2,500 to more than 100 small business owners across Vermont.
The funds are meant provide immediate support to those affected by the recent floods, offering some much-needed breathing room as they work towards long-term recovery plans. The Fund will continue to process applications as it receives contributions for the effort.
The outpouring of generosity and solidarity from individuals and businesses alike has been truly incredible, the fund announced in a prepared statement.
Among those who have donated to the fund are:
• Community Bank, $100,000
• Bank of America, $50,000
• VSECU and NEFCU, $30,000 in support
• Vermont Community Foundation, $25,000
Additional support has poured in from additional businesses, with Downs Rachlin Martin, Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation, Pennywise Foundation, M&T Bank, Trust Company of Vermont and The Alchemist Brewery making $10,000 donations; and American Land Title Association Foundation, Caesers Entertainment, Cigna Healthcare, Dinse, MMG Insurance and Vermont Attorneys Title Company making donations of $5,000 to $10,000.
The Vermont Main Street Recovery Fund has also been supported by hundreds of donations from Vermonters directly and through fundraisers. Those helping include Trapp Family Lodge, Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, Hula Lakeside, Mocha Joe’s in Brattleboro, Threshold Training, the Beverage Warehouse of Vermont, The Comedy Club, and many more.
The Fund is pledging to use 100% of donations to support struggling businesses and facilitate recovery efforts.
