Association Looking for New Hampshire’s Next Leaders

By Eagle Times Staff
CONCORD — New Hampshire’s Business & Industry Association is accepting nominations for its eighth annual Emerging Leader Training program.

The program, a partnership between the association, Sojourn Partners and the University of New Hampshire’s CEO and Family Enterprise Center, develops leadership, communication and strategic reasoning skills. Beginning in September, it will provide coaching and training for participants in six day-long sessions over six months.

Applicants may include current managers, supervisors or solo contributors with potential to build management and leadership skills to benefit your enterprise.

“The competition for workers remains fierce in New Hampshire and it’s vital for organizations to retain their best team members,” said association President and CEO Michael Skelton. “Investing in professional development is one of the best ways to reduce turnover and build future success.”

Sojourn’s coaches and facilitators hold advanced degrees, have extensive training and experience in coaching and development and have led hundreds of programs.

“BIA’s Emerging Leaders is a robust program that taught me how to better advocate for myself in the workplace, and how to empower others around me to do the same,” said past participant Amanda Andrews of New Hampshire Business Review. “Never before have I connected to a program as much as Emerging Leaders due to its humble, humanistic approach that brought everyone in the room together in collaboration.”

Michelline Dufort, director of the CEO & Family Enterprise Center, said its business members are constantly looking to strengthen their teams and develop succession plans to assure multi-generational success.

“Emerging Leader Training is a great opportunity to invest in the type of professional development that provides a long-lasting return on investment,” Dufort said.
