Road crews deserve our thanks
To the Editor:
This summer has started out with some troublesome weather events and trends that have created havoc and difficult times for many in our area.
As we deal with recurring floods leading to major road and property damage our local and state transportation workers have endured sweltering heat, humidity and powerful recurring storms while doing their best to make our roads passable and safe. A difficult job under extreme difficult conditions.
While we have suffered concerns and hardships as a result of the overwhelming impact these weather conditions and events have had on our lives we often take the efforts of these workers for granted as their job to do.
We wish to express our gratitude and give credit to those dedicated hard workers that have continued to work through these harsh conditions in an effort to return our lives to a semblance of order and assurance that we can be safe and secure in our homes and communities.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to all of us! We’d surely be up many a flooded waterway without means of escape without your help!
Sincerely,
Tom Tonioli and Sheryl Pierce
