Vine Sanctuary Joins National Goat Games

Eagle Times Staff
VINE Sanctuary, an animal sanctuary based in Springfield, Vt., is taking part in this year’s National Goat Games.

VINE Sanctuary is asking the community for its support in the one-of-a-kind nationwide fundraising competition underway through Aug. 13. The competition highlights the lifesaving work of 17 animal sanctuaries from around the nation and seeks to raise $250,000 for the sanctuaries.

The Goat Games, sponsored in part by the ASPCA and Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, not only celebrates the spirit of friendly competition, but also serves as a reminder of the role animal sanctuaries play in providing a safe haven for animals and creating a kinder world.

The Goat Games is designed to make it easy for animal lovers to support animals. All 17 sanctuaries will participate in the six-day virtual campaign to see who will be the Greatest Of All Time or “G.O.A.T.”, a title earned by raising the most money. All donated funds will support the operational needs of each sanctuary, including food, shelter, and medical needs.

In light of this year’s Goat Games, VINE Sanctuary is also addressing a crucial matter. The sanctuary has seen a significant increase in requests to provide safe haven for goats in need. Many goats face challenging circumstances, such as neglect, abuse or abandonment, and VINE Sanctuary is determined to offer them a forever home where they can thrive. With the increasing demand to take in more goats, VINE Sanctuary is reaching out to the community for support. Donations from individuals and local businesses can make a significant difference in ensuring that more goats receive the love and care they deserve. Your contributions will directly contribute to providing shelter, veterinary care, and nourishing food for goats in need.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the National Goat Games and to represent Vermont in this wonderful celebration of goats,” said pattrice jones of VINE Sanctuary. VINE Sanctuary has been a pillar of the Springfield community for years, rescuing animals with a focus onpromoting veganism, environmental sustainability, and social justice
