SPECIAL TO THE EAGLE TIMES
CLAREMONT, N.H. — It was a great night at Carr Gymnasium as Stevens High School held their first Lady Cards Summer Alumni Game.
As we preach family with our groups each year, there was no better avenue to see that come to fruition than getting to catch up with former players.
There were no coaches for the game, which allowed the players to make their own decisions, game plans and substitutions.
The game was a nail biter, but the alumni squeaked out a win 34-33 over the current active squad.
The MVP of the night went to recent Cardinal graduate Stella Lavertue. She ended the night with a near triple double in points, rebounds and steals.
We’re hoping to grow the alumni game in the coming years as it becomes a new tradition with additional alumni players next year.
Thanks to everyone for coming out for a night of laughs, love and basketball.
