Karin Lisischeff

Karin Lisischeff UNITY, NH -It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Karin Lisischeff. She passed away on the morning of April 1, 2023 in her home in Venice, FL after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Karin was born in Wernigerode, East Germany on September 24, 1943 the daughter of Karl and Ursula (Wiechmann) Begert. As a young woman, she immigrated from Germany to the United States, where she met her husband of almost 45 years, Christopher, who predeceased her in 2009. Christopher and Karin lived in North Canton, CT, where they raised their three children. Karin worked for Cigna for 29 years. She made many friends and enjoyed her work. When not working, Karin and family enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Crescent Lake, in Unity, NH. Karin loved to read, garden and cook. She was a phenomenal cook! She always enjoyed a nice glass of wine, reading, following the stock market, and was interested in real estate. She was a very intelligent woman with a fantastic, dry sense of humor. She loved her Siamese cats (Ralphie, Leopold) and Dobermans (Victor and Minnie). Minnie was her constant companion later in life, lovingly beside her in her final days. Karin’s surviving family includes two daughters, Alexandra Brown of Pickerington, Ohio and Elke Lisischeff of Venice, Florida; one son Siegfried Lisischeff and his wife Julie of West Simsbury, Connecticut; three grandchildren, Tyler Steady, Lorelei Lisischeff, and Christopher Lisischeff; two great grandchildren, Zoe Steady and Owen Steady. She is also survived by her brother Horst Begert from Isen, Germany, sister-in-law Dorle, as well as their four children and grandchildren. Private burial will be held in the Acworth Cemetery on August 19, 2023 at 10am. Family and Friends are welcome to attend and pay their respects. An open house “Celebration of Life” to follow at “The Cottage”, 28 Emerson Road on Crescent Lake. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Karin’s memory to the Crescent Lake Association. Arrangements are with Stringer Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH 03743. To view an online memorial or send a private message of condolence, visit www.stringerfh.com.
