“The Wedding Singer” is now on stage at the New London Barn Playhouse.
The show will run at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday with 2 p.m. matinee performances on Wednesday and Friday and a 5 p.m. performance on Sunday.
Based on the memorable 1998 Adam Sandler movie, “The Wedding Singer” includes 80s hits, romance and hilarity. The musical follows Robbie Hart, a wedding singer heartbroken after being dumped at the altar, and Julia Sullivan, a soon to be bride, and their unlikely blooming romance.
With a Tony Award nominated book by Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, and music by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, The Wedding Singer will have you laughing.
Jose Contreras makes his Barn Playhouse debut as Robbie Hart, Lauren Echausse returns as Linda, Joseph Frederick Allen is George, Margaret Hunton is Angie, Dawn Tucker is Rosie, Karina Gallagher is Julia Sullivan, Lincoln Skoien is Glen Guglia, Nick Brogan is Sammy and Katie Kallay is Holly.
Jamming out onstage, and rounding out the rest of the ensemble cast are Izzy Baker, Amara Berhan, Savion Gates, Jared Guerrasio, Cynthia Kauffman, Justin Lee-Price, Alawna Mallory, Jon Maltz, Vivica Powell and Gabe Tobierre.
Director Natalie Matlotke is making her Barn Debut, and returning for a second time this summer is Choreographer Krystyna Resavy.
The band for the production includes Robbie Cowan on keyboard, Michael Manasseh on percussion, Abby Singer-Miller on bass and Andrew Shield and Robert Bekkers on guitars.
The New London Barn Playhouse is one of the oldest continuously operating summer theaters in the country.
Housed in an historic converted barn, the theater features professional Broadway actors alongside emerging young artists in an intimate, air-conditioned setting.
