CLAREMONT, N.H. — Casa Jalisco Bar & Grill is open for business and celebrated with a ribbon cutting Wednesday.

Co-owners Humberto Sr., Humberto Jr., Alejandra and Genaro Quezada opened the restaurant Monday.

Humberto Quezada Jr. said his father has been cooking professionally for 35 years.

“It’s been super exciting, to say the least,” Humberto Quezada Jr. said. “My father taught us, and from working in the kitchen for years, you see what works out. If it works out, we roll it out until you know it like the back of your hand.”

Planning and Economic Development Director Nancy Merrill loves the new addition to the city.

“I think it’s terrific to have a new restaurant in Claremont,” she said. “We welcome the cafe and all they’re going to bring to the city.”

Councilor and fellow restaurant owner Nicholas Koloski said it’s “awesome to see another business move into the community.”

“They’ve done a beautiful job renovating this space, and I’m looking forward to sampling a bunch of items off the menu,” he said. “I own a restaurant in the community and enjoy having places to go.”

Mayor Dale Girard spoke before the ribbon-cutting and welcomed Casa Jalisco Bar & Grill to Claremont.

“Casa Jalisco’s philosophy is that everyone is family, and they strive to provide a true experience in the most welcoming atmosphere in the region,” he said. “In the few days the restaurant has been open, the citizens of Claremont have offered high praise on social media. Casa Jalisco uses only the highest quality ingredients, and their dishes are always made fresh to order.”

Server Rocio Quezada took a moment to welcome the crowd.

“We’re so excited to introduce new food and a little bit of our culture,” she said. “Everybody is family here, as you know, and so are you guys.”

Casa Jalisco Bar & Grill is located at 163 Washington Street.
