Thank you for your hospitality
To the Editor:
I want to thank the people of Lempster for welcoming me into their Old Home Day festivities last Saturday. From getting help parking and unloading supplies for a booth to being welcomed as part of the parade, your hospitality was greatly appreciated. I was honored to be part of the celebration of the place you call Home.

Kudos to Sunapee’s Laura Trow
To the Editor:
Regarding the August 18 item, “Sunapee Food Pantry Seeks Donations”, I’d like to commend Laura Trow and the Sunapee Food Pantry for ensuring that donated laundry supplies are fragrance-free.
Research shows over 25% of people experience adverse reactions to fragrance chemicals in everyday consumer products. These products are not regulated the way foods and drugs are. Asthma, migraine attacks, joint pain, mood swings, and many other health issues can be triggered by fragranced products. Keeping fragrances out of public buildings and social services is an important step toward serving these people equitably.
Most manufacturers have been hiding their ingredient lists, but now — thanks to a few states passing laws requiring ingredient disclosure — we’re seeing many fragrance ingredients that are allergens or sensitizers which can trigger health problems.
Consumers can look up products online, and the manufacturers should now be providing links to ingredient lists. Educational information, including links to research and other articles, is also available at www.fragrancefreecoalition.com and www.fragrancefreefriends.com.
