UNH’s Bright and Goldman Named to Watch List

KANSAS CITY — University of New Hampshire senior midfielder Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy) and senior forward Eli Goldman (Minneapolis, Minn.) have been named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s Players to Watch List.

Bright is a two-time All-American earning 2021 First Team accolades and 2023 Third Team honors. He was named the America East Midfielder of the Year in 2021 and 2022, while he was also selected to the First Team All-Northeast Region and First Team All-America East in 2021 and 2022. Bright was a 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. Last season he was named the America East Men’s Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Goldman earned 2022 Second Team All-Northeast Region honors and achieved First Team All-America East accolades as he led the team with nine goals and 19 points. He was named to the America East All-Tournament Team as the Wildcats won the championship. Also in 2022, Goldman was on the America East All-Academic Team and Academic All-District Team.

UNH kicks off the 2023 season on Aug. 24 at VCU at 8:15 p.m. The home-opener is versus Boston University on Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.

UNH has won four America East Tournament titles winning in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022. UNH went 15-4-1 (.775) overall in the 2022 season and was ranked No. 21 in the final United Soccer Coaches National Poll. UNH won the America East Tournament championship versus UAlbany to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive year and seventh time overall as UNH defeated Seton Hall, 2-1, in the first round at Wildcat Stadium.

Wildcats Picked First in America East Preseason Poll

The No. 23 nationally-ranked University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team has been selected first in the 2023 America East Preseason Poll. The voting was conducted by the conference’s eight head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own teams.

The Wildcats were picked to win the championship as UNH received four first-place votes and 46 total points, while Vermont posted three first-place votes and 45 points. UAlbany had one first-place vote and tied with UMBC for third place with 34 points.
