Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, a Billie Holiday musical, is at the New London Barn Playhouse through Sept. 3.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. through Sept. 3, at 2 p.m. Aug. 30 and Sept. 1 and at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The 2014 Broadway musical and Tony Award nominated production offers a recount of Holiday’s life and her music. Danyel Fulton will perform as Billie Holiday, and performing as Jimmy Powers and the music director for the production is Nygel D. Robinson, And sticking around for one last production, is 2023 Acting Intern Alawna Mallory as a guest artist for Lady Day understudying the role of Billie Holiday.
The show is directed by Todd Underwood and the production stage manager is Erin Joy Swank. Vincent Gunn is is returning as scenic designer.
The band for this production includes Luis Jacome (drums) and Hans Hibbard (Acoustic Bass) with Nygel D. Robinson on the piano.
