Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash
At 7:26 p.m, Aug. 12, the Springfield Police Department was notified of a single motorcycle crash at the intersection of Clinton and Bridge Streets. The Springfield Fire and Police Departments responded and determined that the operator had suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The operator is identified as Caleb Pope of Claremont, N.H. Initial information indicates that speed was a major contributing factor in this unfortunate incident. Charged: First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault
On Aug. 22, Springfield Police Officers were notified of an active domestic assault taking place at a residence on Furnace Street.
During the course of the investigation. it was determined that the defendant, Harrison Rouleau, allegedly strangled his cousin, who is also is roommate. Harrison was taken into custody without incident.
Harrison was issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court to answer the alleged charge of First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault. Harrison was then transported to Southern State Correctional Facility where he was lodged in lieu of bail.
Charged: Fugitive from Justice
On Aut. 18, Springfield officers responded to an incident on Union Street that resulted in a pursuit. One of the occupants of the vehicle was identified as Nathaniel Ashwood and confirmed that he had an extraditable warrant based out of York County Maine.
Nathaniel was ultimately arrested and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing where he was fingerprinted, photographed, and issued a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit to answer for the charge of Fugitive from Justice. Nathaniel was transported to the Windsor County Court.
