CLAREMONT, N.H. — High-tech manufacturer Carbon Felt is seeking upward of 50 new employees, all from within Claremont.
“The applicant should not sell themselves short or talk themselves out of applying for a job,” said Carbon Felt Plant Manager Brad Regan “We have positions open at all skill levels.”
The company, whose product is used to create insulation for industrial furnaces, offers medical benefits, quarterly bonuses and is willing to provide on-the-job training for individuals showing initiative to learn.
Upper management makes a point to visit Claremont once a week, investing in the company’s talent and workforce. A poster inside the Claremont plant advertises a company picnic, one that ensures all shifts get to be part of the fun.
“The owner of our company is all about family,” Regan said, emphasizing the importance of a healthy work-life balance. “He wants our people to make a good wage, be able to enjoy life and be home with their families.”
Derek Gretter, 31, relocated to Claremont to take the job, energized by all that he Carbon Felt Inc. had to offer.
“The plant is up and coming. We really don’t have a large team yet, but we’re building,” said Gretter, who was hired as a nighttime team leader but has since moved over to be the shipping coordinator. “The people are great. I like taking part in making this a world class place.”
Carbon Felt is a subsidiary of Carbon Composites in Massachusetts and is located at 98 Plains Road — but many in the city don’t know what they do.
In addition to creating low thermal conductivity insulation products, the company specializes in Soft Felt, a flexible insulation designed to withstand higher temperature applications. Their products are shipped all over the world.
As a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, Regan believes Claremont already has a workforce; they just need the opportunity to get started. He believes, though, that he’s opened that door to the possibility of success for many in the area.
“Working at Carbon Fiber is a close community,” he said. “We welcome the application of anyone wishing to work. Just plan on showing up each day when scheduled to work.”
