The Springfield Senior Center will be closed Monday for Labor Day.
• Games: Hand and foot card games will be at 1 p.m, Sept. 15. Board games will be at 1 p.m, Sept. 22. “Wizard” card game will be on Wednesday. Nickel bingo will be at 1 p.m, Friday. Knit Wits will meet at 1 p.m. on Sept. 21. And, drop-in corn hole will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
• Picnic: Our annual Picnic will be at Tree Farm Campground from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday. Bring a dish to share and your drink. Paper products will be provided. Games will be on hand. Rain or Shine.
• September activities: We will be starting up our activities in September. Ceramics start on Sept. 11. Strength training and chair yoga on Sept. 12. Cribbage league will start on Sept. 13. Shuffle Board league on Sept. 14. And, gentle mat yoga at 10 a.m. on Sept. 25.
• Bermuda cruise: Sarah from Wheelock travel will be here on Sept. 13 to discuss the large trip for 2024, a Boston to Bermuda Cruise in May.
• Medicare assistance: Liz Carey with Senior Solutions will be offering assistance to anyone on Medicare that may need help with benefits. She will be at the center from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 12 and Sept. 26.
• 60th anniversary: The Senior Center will be celebrating its 60th Anniversary at 1 p.m, Sept. 27. It is the oldest senior center in the state of Vermont. The center is now selling tickets for its September calendar raffle for $5 each.
• Foot clinics: Appointments will be needed for the foot clinics at the center. You can call the center to schedule one. The price for this service will still be $20. Registered nurse Janet Hunter will be offering clinics on Tuesdays.
