Coming Thursday: A Writer Returns to the ET

By Richard Girard

CLAREMONT, NH — The Eagle Times is pleased to announce that Ann St. Martin Stout is returning to its pages. Entitled Leaves are Free, her new biweekly column will share various thoughts making their way from her head to the paper. As in her mid-1990s column, you can expect to read about family, seasons, local history and other essays of life

A native of Newport, Ann and her husband Greg have just sent their 7th, and youngest, child to college in Washington DC. “Life now awaits,” she said, planning to carry on in arts and crafts, reading and gardening, as she and Greg build the rural Newport home they’ve looked forward to.

Ann is the author of two books, Praying the Stained Glass Windows: Symbolism and Meaning of the Windows in the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Patrick in Newport NH; and, An Alphabet Book of the Sunshine Town: Newport NH.

Look for her column starting this Thursday in the Eagle Times. She can be reached at [email protected].
