CHESTER, VT — The Annual Chester Fall Festival, a breezy and sunny event full of maple cotton candy, fried dough, walking tacos, and Korean Pad Thai brought in a consistent number of guests despite the ongoing overcast weather.

New electric outlets were gifted to the community that will be installed around the Chester green to use for live music, overall townscape beautification and during next year’s 50th fall festival.

Board member Shannon Babbette-Parker said attendance was close to last year’s 10,000 markers despite the overcast weather on Saturday, Sept. 16, and was much larger the next day.

“There were probably like 8,000 [attendees] on Saturday, but our Sunday was really busy,” Babbette-Parker said. “The new electrical outlets will be decorated, beautiful and similar to what you would see at a campground and will be utilized by the Chester music festival or Chester townscapes when they’re decorating for the holidays.”

The winners of the raffle that brought in $1,500 were Jen Joy, who chose Barry Pinske’s artisan chainsaw carved bear, and Kathi Godreau, who won a weekend vacation for two and sleigh ride courtesy of the Stone Hearth Inn.

Dates for the 50th anniversary of the Chester Fall Festival are Sept. 21-22, 2024.
