CLAREMONT, NH — Administrative issues that were partly responsible for missed payroll and unpaid vendors in SAU 6, which operates schools in Claremont and Unity, have reportedly been resolved. On Sept. 16, the Eagle Times reported the district missed payroll and that at least two businesses had stopped serving the Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center because of unpaid bills.
Payroll issues were resolved and Claremont Savings Bank President and CEO Dave Finnerty said the missed payroll was processed Friday, Sept. 15.
“There was an issue with the payroll system at SAU 6, an internal issue, which prevented the file from going out and being loaded on Thursday evening, Sept. 14, so it can be processed on Friday, Sept. 15,” Finnerty said. “Everyone got paid on Friday. I believe they have fixed whatever the issue was, so things should run smoothly, but we’ll keep an eye on it.”
SAU6 Superintendent Michael Tempesta said the vendor billing issues are being resolved and are a priority.
“We are currently in the process of ensuring billing and payment was restored on all accounts we are aware of at SRVRTC,” Tempesta said. “We are only aware of two accounts that we had to verify transactions before payment was made. One was resolved over the phone Monday morning [Sept. 18] and we are awaiting a final confirmation from the other vendor.”
