WOODSTOCK, VT — Finding balance and purpose is the theme of this year’s TEDxHartlandHill Conference from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., today, Sept. 23, at Billings Farm and Museum.
Celebrating the spirit of TED Talk’s “Ideas Worth Spreading,” TEDxHartlandHill’s second annual event will feature speakers from the academic to artistic, concrete to cutting edge.
“It’s a full day of TEDx Talks offering insight into living a life of meaning — all right here in Woodstock,” said founder and Executive Director Deborah Greene. “Our talks consider how the world is evolving, how we can take care of ourselves, integrate creativity, and how we lead more balanced and purposeful lives, with today’s best thinkers, innovators, authors, and artists live on stage.”
This year’s lineup of speakers includes technology, education and design experts assembled at Billings Farm and Museum’s visitor center theater.
Due to popular demand, an additional interactive opportunity has also been added in Billings Farm’s barn, offering large-screen simulcast viewing, additional seating, refreshments from local vendors and the chance to meet and chat with speakers after their presentations during including an exclusive Q&A,” said Ali Madeira, who came on board as director of operations for the 2023 conference.
The day ends with an afternoon garden party for all guests from 5 to 6 p.m. with food and drinks from our sponsors Hato Viejo Coffee, Billings Farm Cheeses, Blake Hill Preserves, SILO Distillery, Plymouth Artisan Cheese, Killington Distillery, Splendid Bakes, The Village Butcher and more.
While on site at Billings Farm and Museum, TEDxHartlandHill attendees can experience the scenic farm in autumn, meet the farm’s animals, tour the Vermont Farm Life Exhibits and 1890s Farm Manager’s House, and take a moment to discover the late-season beauty of the farm.
Attendees will also have exclusive access to view the Vermont Female Farmers Photography Exhibition by JuanCarlos González. Created over the course of two years, the exhibition features captivating images of the farmers at work during their daily lives, documenting the meaningful and impactful contributions that today’s female farmers are making to Vermont’s culture, identity, and economy.
