David A. Sanders

David A. Sanders CHARLESTOWN, NH -David A Sanders, 78, of Charlestown passed away on September 16, 2023 at home with his beloved wife, Cinderella Sanders and his faithful dog, Noel by his side. It was his wish to be at home during his last days. Family also spent precious time with him. David was born March 23, 1945 in Northampton, Ma to parents Clarence and Barbara Sanders of Sunderland, one of 11 children. He attended Frontier Regional High School. He started work early with a paper route, worked in the tobacco fields and then at age 17 started work with Asplundh Tree Co. He left Asplundh to serve in the Army upon being drafted. He did one tour in Viet Nam, 68-69. After proudly serving his country, he was discharged and returned to work with Asplundh. He continued to work for them in Ma. and Vermont for over 40 years. He fulfilled one of his boyhood desires and learned how to drive those big semis. After retiring from Asplundh, he worked locally for Beaudry Enterprises of Charlestown. He worked for them until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He met his wife, Cinderella Jones at a young age. He was 17 and she was a mere 14. They dated though high school and married in June of 1966. They embraced 57 years together working their careers and raising a family. After they both retired, they traveled with their RV exploring our beautiful country. David was a big man and his size and quiet ways often made people step back initially. But under that exterior was a big old teddy bear with lots of love and kindness. He had very strong work ethics and expected no less from those who worked with him. He loved to tinker with almost anything and many days would find him in his garage,”The Barn”, fixing things. As his health declined you would still find him in his garage doing what he could or sitting on the lawn swing on the front patio. He loved family especially the little ones. Nothing made his day more than having them come over to visit and sit in grandpa’s lap..
