CLAREMONT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
MANCHESTER, NH — For the first time, Claremont Christian Academy participated in one of the largest cross country meets in New Hampshire.
The event hosted more than 1,900 runners from schools throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts, and Claremont Christian had five runners participate. Races included the Freshmen Boys, JV-C Boys, JV-C Girls, JV-B Boys and JV-B Girls classes.
John Henry Andrews ran a steady strong race consistent throughout the course in the Freshmen Boys group and placed 84th with a time of 15:06 on the 2.1-mile course. There were more than 141 runners.
Hannah Golden tackled the hills with gusto among a pack of 119 girls, finishing in 71st place with a time of 19:56.
Ezra Hector took off in the JV-C Boys class with strength and determination, finishing 95th out of 178 runners with a time of 15:07 for a 3.1-mile course.
Laethy Golden captured a great spot near the top leaders of the pack in the JV-B Girls race. She held the 23rd position out of 183 JV-B girl runners, finishing strong with a time of 23:22.
Gabe Nilges was in the largest heat of the JV Boys groups with a whopping 307 JV boy runners. He held strong on all the hills throughout the course and finished in 201st place with a time of 22:02.
This was the second meet of the season.
