NEW LONDON, NH — The Center for the Arts (CFA) presents a unique opportunity to view 17 local artists from the Lake Sunapee Region at an Open Studios event around the Lake Sunapee Region Saturday, Oct. 7, and Sunday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kicking off this event is an opening reception at Prospect Hill in Lake Sunapee harbor on Friday, Oct. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Art enthusiasts can view current artists’ new collections of fall art by Marilyn Wendling, Lisa Jelleme, Renee Bitinas, Peter Jacoby, Doug Henry and more. An art collection with never-before-seen pieces by Ken Schuster, Tom Pirozzoli, and Tim Campbell will also be on display. If you head to the first floor, photography from “Ends of the Earth Innovations” photography and “Oh Darling Photography” will also be open for viewing.
All the artists specialize in art forms ranging from abstract painting, printmaking, mixed media, jewelry, photography, acrylic painting, oil painting, assemblage and sculpture.
These Open Studios will broaden the public’s exposure to, and appreciation of, finished works of art as well as the art making process, and raise awareness of the diverse artistic experience available in the Lake Sunapee Region.
“We are thrilled to offer this experience to the community especially since it is primarily driven by local artist interest,” said CFA Executive Director Dena Stahlheber. “It is a rare and exciting opportunity for the community and art enthusiasts everywhere to get a sneak peek into the creative process of these talented individual artists.”
