Fall Mountain, Stevens Still Strong on Season

The Fall Mountain Wildcats scored 54 points to defeat Hillsboro-Deering (49) and Monadnock (43) at Bretwood Golf Course in Keene on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Ledger Willett tied for second overall with 18 points and Jon Grenier placed fifth overall with 15 points to pace the Wildcats. Porter Willet was next for FM with 11 points, Perry Lent followed with 10, Camden Fuller had 9 and Donnie Tucker added 8.

Gavin Ford of Hillsboro-Deering had a strong round on Bretwood’s South Course to lead the field with 21 points.

Fall Mountain was back on the road again on Monday, Sept. 25, when they traveled to the Country Club of New Hampshire in North Sutton.

The Wildcats put forth a strong effort with 62 points, which was good for second place. Hopkinton was the victor with 77 points and Hillsboro-Deering came in third place with 49 points.

Ledger Willett led Fall Mountain by placing fifth overall with 19 points. Next for the Wildcats was Grenier with 17, Tetu with 15, Porter Willett followed with 11, Fuller had 7 and Lent added 5.

Ford scored almost half of Hillsboro-Deering’s points as he earned first place honors with 24 points.

FM is now 12-9 on the season and sits in ninth place in the Division 4 standings. They have one regular season match remaining on Monday, Oct. 2, against Gorham (18-2), Conant (13-2) and Concord Christian (6-11).

Stevens

Stevens dominated the competition on Senior Day at Claremont Country Club, scoring 75 points to defeat John Stark (51) and Plymouth (50).

Owen Wilkinson and Aubree Herzog led Stevens by claiming the top two places overall. Wilkinson continued his standout season by scoring 24 points and Herzog finished close behind with 21 points after shooting her best round of the season.

Lydia Redman was the lone senior for Stevens and tied with Ian Gersberg for third on the team.

“Lydia had a career day with 15 points,” said Coach Ryan Seaver.

Oliver Beeman (11), Justin Demars (10) and Josh Petrin (3) also competed for Stevens.

With the sweep, Stevens surpassed Pelham in the standings, moving into fifth place in Division 3 at 10-7.

Stevens has one remaining home match on Wednesday, Sept. 27, against Lebanon (9-10) and ConVal (1-15). They finish the regular season with two matches hosted by Derryfield (9-2) on Monday, Oct. 2 and Wednesday, Oct. 4.
