READING, VT — The Hall Art Foundation has reopened its galleries after being forced to close by the July floods.
Director Maryse Brand said the reopening received a great response from patrons who are thrilled to see the venue serving the area’s art community again.
The exhibit contains pieces by Susan Rothenberg and Andy Warhol. It will closes in November.
“Andy Warhol: Small is beautiful” includes more than 100 small paintings that span Warhol’s career.
“Altogether, ‘Small is Beautiful’ provides a comprehensive and intimate retrospective of the paintings of Andy Warhol, in small scale,” Brand said.
According to Brand, a version of the Susan Rothenberg show was first viewed in 2021 at Kunstmuseum Schloss Derneburg, the foundation’s museum space in Holle, Germany.
The grounds at the Hall Art Foundation’s Reading location are landscaped with sculptures that draw the eye.
In addition to art, the facility features a cafe and a welcoming staff.
The property’s five historic buildings on a former dairy farm make up approximately 6,000-square-feet of museum-quality exhibition space.
The farmhouse and barns sit next to a waterfall on a tributary of the Black River, and are surrounded by approximately 400-acres of pastures, hayfields and woodland. Sculptures are installed throughout the grounds.
The Foundation, at 44 VT Route 106, in Reading, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. For more information, pricing and entry times, visit hallartfoundation.org/location/vermont.
