Dale G. Hodgdon WINDSOR, VT -Dale G. Hodgdon passed on to his next life on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at home with his soul mate, Wendy, and beloved daughter, Megan, by his side. It was Dale’s utmost desire to be at home when he passed and Dale’s wife and daughter are so grateful for the support of VNH hospice for ensuring this could happen. Dale also spent precious time with those closest to him, even, for some, simply through their thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Dale was born January 20, 1954 (Inauguration Day as he would tell you) in Windsor VT to Allie and Norma (Burr) Hodgdon. He graduated Windsor High School with a number of lifelong friends. While for the most part Dale owned his own business running equipment and logging, he was most proud of 2 jobs in particular: the days he spent in the beginning of his career working for Asplundh Tree Company; the other, where he finished his career at Ford of Claremont. The relationships he built at Ford were some of the best of his life and were most treasured. Those who were fortunate enough to really know Dale enjoyed his jokes and stories, some that were completely off-color but knowing he always meant well. He made us laugh until we cried, many times not being able to hold back a snort or 2 in the process. Dale was a worker and proud of it. He accomplished feats that often were beyond our comprehension. And he was a good man, caring very deeply for those he loved. Dale is survived by his wife, Wendy Hodgdon, his daughter, Megan Hodgdon and her son, Maximus Martin, his step-son Dane Adams and his wife Emily and their children Grace, Madeleine and Riley, as well as “Wendy’s” golden retrievers, Emma Lou and Duke. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday October 21, 2023 from 3 PM to 5 PM Stringer Funeral Home on Broad Street Claremont. A remembrance service will be held privately by the family.
