NEW LONDON, NH — Colby-Sawyer College welcomed families and alumni for horse-drawn carriage rides, games and bingo at this year’s homecoming weekend.

Homecoming weekend launched at 11:30 a.m. this past Saturday, Oct. 14. Visitors were greeted by caramel corn and barbeque upon entering the campus. Parents enjoyed campus tours while children were entertained with a scavenger hunt and lawn games.

Local vendors lined the quad alongside these activities. A few of the most popular businesses were Sunapee Creations, Howl’n Good Kettle Corn and Nicole Jeanne Jewelry. Face painting was also a huge hit, and the sight of colorful face designs became more common as the day went on. Despite all of this excitement, the main event was still yet to come.

Enthusiastic guests packed into Ware Student Center when bingo time arrived. This Halloween-themed bingo took place at night and boasted a wide array of prizes that ranged from a pumpkin carving kit to a TV. As the night ended, surprise guest and alumni Roosevelt Harris-Williams (’23) was given the honor of calling out the bingo numbers during the final round.
